Kate’s primary markets include Los Angeles, Ojai, Carpinteria, Montecito, and Santa Barbara, where she helps families and individuals relocate, leveraging her in-depth knowledge of both private and public school districts.

“The formation of Deasy Penner in 2006 was a perfect fit for my clientele, who are drawn to architecture and historic properties,” Kate says. “My mission is to bring together all the elements that make a house feel like home.” With the recent merger with Compass, she now enjoys the best of both worlds—deep architectural expertise backed by cutting-edge technology and support.

With extensive experience in remodeling and building, Kate also provides Estate and Project Management services for clients looking to customize their homes. Collaborating with architects, builders, and landscapers, she advises homeowners on optimizing their properties—balancing personal vision with long-term value, equity, and appreciation.

Raised in a New York film family, Kate transitioned into real estate after a successful career in the industry. As a producer in New York City and Hollywood, she specialized in documentaries on art and architecture, as well as commercials and film. Her passion for real estate began with hands-on experience—buying, remodeling, and selling her own properties. By popular demand, she soon found herself assisting friends and colleagues in the film industry, launching a career dedicated to bringing architectural vision to life.
